In 1966, Margot Fraser, an unlikely champion of chic footwear, found herself in a predicament with sore feet during a trip to her native Germany. The remedy? A curious pair of Birkenstock Madrid sandals. This encounter transformed her perception of comfort, and she was so impressed that she decided to bring this "odd-looking" footwear to the United States.

MEET 'MSCHF': THE MICROSCOPIC HANDBAG ABOUT THE SIZE OF A GRAIN OF SAND

With dimensions measuring a mere 657 by 222 by 700 micrometers, the semi-translucent handbag delicately exists on a scale smaller than a grain of sea salt. Crafted as a thought-provoking statement, MSCHF's chief creative officer, Kevin Wiesner, conceived the micro bag as a commentary on the diminishing proportions of luxury handbags. Formerly valued for functionality, these accessories have evolved into ostentatious adornments where utility often takes a backseat.

Domoszlai also reflects on several digital shows from the fall 2021 fashion weeks. She notes that Givenchy's collection, set to electronic music in a warehouse reminiscent of 90s' acid raves and recent illegal pandemic-era raves, underscores the urgency to escape the current dystopian reality.

AI ART

Appropriation has been a part of art since its inception, long before intellectual property laws existed. Inspiration doesn't exist in a vacuum, and it's rare for either artificial or organic intelligence to create something entirely new. But how do we draw the line?
